NS reducing the number of trains
Following the spread of Covid-19 virus in the Netherlands and the measures taken by the Government of the Netherlands, the Dutch railway company NS decided to make changes to their train services. From Saturday, March 21 and onwards, the number of trains running will be limited. The public transit service announced the following changes.
As of Saturday, there will be:
- Only two trains per hour in all directions from every station in the Netherlands
- Only intercity trains running on the important north-south and east-west routes; on other routes sprinter trains will be available.
