How to keep your head cool and hearts warm in times of isolation

A crisis like the corona crisis throws all that we know and are used to upside down. We can’t control what is happening, yet we can control how we are dealing with it. In this article, you can find some practical tips on how to do this.

1. Be patient with yourself and allow yourself time to adjust

The unknown and unfamiliar can be scary. You might feel lonely, home-sick and overwhelmed. Important is that you are patient with yourself and allow yourself some time to adjust. Think of the time you moved to a foreign country! There are some parallels. In both cases, new habits, new rules and new social norms apply. You have to adjust to a ‘new normal’ and learn to navigate a new situation. You will be alright, just give it some time or talk things over.

2. Find what makes you tick

Carl Jung once said: “The brighter the light, the darker the shadow”. Coach Ida believes this to be true the other way round. In these days of crisis and isolation, we can shine our light even brighter. How to do this? Find out what makes you tick, what brings you joy. Try to think of who you choose to be and what impact you are looking to have.

3. Find out what makes you feel most alive.

Especially in times of uncertainty, it’s of great value to find your focus and find a way to make the most out of this time for you. To live life to the fullest and feel ‘alive’ in this time of social isolation. Whether it is keeping ourselves physically active, playing music or solving mathematical problems.
